Kenneth Ray Helms

Kenneth Helms, age 91, peacefully entered his heavenly home on Friday, January 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 25, 1934, to Grady and Flonnie Helms. Kenneth spent many years as a dedicated truck driver, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and love for the open road. Known for his adventurous spirit, he especially cherished traveling on his Harley alongside his beloved wife.

Kenneth was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His life was marked by an unwavering faith in God, a deep love for his family, and a genuine desire to bring joy to everyone he met. Those fortunate enough to know Kenneth will fondly remember his warm sense of humor and the welcoming presence he extended to all.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Flonnie Helms; brothers, Wayne Helms and Ronald Helms; and his loving wife of 60 years, Frances Helms. He is survived by his daughter, Benetta (Kenney) Nunnelley; his son, Terry (Ginny) Helms; his grandchildren, Mandy (Scotty) Shoemaker, Melissa (Nic) Moody, Daniel Owen Helms, Amelia (Christian) Conway, and Seth Helms; and his great-grandchildren, Andrew (Savannah) Shoemaker, Tanner Shoemaker, Hailey Moody, Ian Moody; and his sister, Mary Kathryn McElrath, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.

The family will receive visitors at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, AL on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Randy Helms. Burial will follow the service. Pallbearers will be Terry Helms, Owen Helms, Andrew Shoemaker, Tanner Shoemaker, Seth Helms, and Ian Moody, with Nic Moody, Scotty Shoemaker, Kenney Nunnelley and Christian Conway serving as honorary pallbearers.
