Obituary

Keith Aaron Hattaway, 63, went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Born December 31, 1962, Keith was an entrepreneur at heart, owning multiple businesses that he continued to operate until the very end. In the early 2000s, he founded Hattaway and Associates, building a legacy that will live on through his wife, children, and grandchildren. Keith was an avid Auburn fan, a Little League sports connoisseur (thanks to his children and many grandchildren), and a lover of the outdoors. He was always ready to argue for the right call on the field, a testament to his passion for the game and the people he loved watching play.

Keith is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ginger Pinson Hattaway, and their three beautiful children: Amelia Evans (Josh), Joshua Hattaway (Holly), and Olivia Steed (Lawson). His legacy lives on through his seven beloved grandchildren, who lovingly called him Pops: Reid, Haddon, Molly Ruth, Henry, Watson, Brooks, and Piper. He is also survived by his sister, Pam Munn, and a host of cousins.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Carolyn Ruth Dewberry and Billy Joe Hattaway; his beloved grandparents, Bertie Talton (Mawmaw) and J.C. Dewberry (Granddaddy); and his brother-in-law, Brandon Munn.

The family extends its deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff of UAB Palliative Care for the compassionate care, comfort, and support they provided. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the UAB Palliative Care Unit in Keith’s honor. This special place served as a harbor of comfort, compassion, and care for Keith and his family during his final weeks.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Keith will be laid to rest at Tabernacle Cemetery immediately following the service. A processional will accompany the family to the cemetery.

The service will be officiated by Pastor Josh Evans.

Joshua Hattaway, Reid Evans, Lawson Steed, Theo Pinson, Matthew Pinson, and Douglas Tucker will serve as active pallbearers.

Haddon Evans will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
