Kathryn "Mee Mee" Moore passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at the age of 98.

Born on September 9, 1927, Kathryn lived through nearly a century of history and change.

Kathryn was the mother of two sons, Stanley Strickland and Ronny Lockhart (Carol); stepdaughter Dianne Hedgepath and Joanne Martin (deceased) and stepson Jim Phillips (Mary). She also leaves behind her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her faith was an important part of her life. She enjoyed attending church, and even as her vision declined, she remained determined to read her Bible. Her steadfast devotion to her faith was a defining part of her life.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathryn's life on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 1591 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, Alabama 35235. Rev. James Long will be officiating her service. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.

A special thank you to her friends, personal caregivers and Compassus Hospice for their love and support during this difficult time. May Kathryn rest in eternal peace. In lieu of flowers monetary donations may be sent to the Homebound Ministry at Trussville First Baptist Church.
