Mrs. Kathleen C. Faucett, 86, of Birmingham, Alabama, entered into eternal rest on June 26, 2026. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 20, 1939, Kathleen lived a life rich in love, family, and devotion.
Fiercely proud of her Italian heritage, Kathleen poured that pride into her family and her kitchen. For many years she cooked Sunday dinners for the family, and she was lovingly known for her "Basta" — a meal that brought everyone to the table and made her home the heart of the family. A nurse by profession, she devoted many years of her career to the old East End Hospital, which later became Medical Center East, caring for others with the same warmth she showed her own family. A devoted member of the Catholic Church, she found a spiritual home at St. Barnabas, where her faith was a steady and guiding presence throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of nearly 65 years, Thomas J. Faucett Sr., and by her beloved parents, Dominic and Jenny Carvelli.
Kathleen leaves behind a family that was her greatest joy. She is survived by her children, Donnette Kendrick and Joey Faucett (Melanie); her cherished grandchildren, Dale Kendrick (Brooke), Nick Faucett (Katie), and Chris Faucett; and her adored great-grandchildren, Ella, Emmie, Olivia, Madelyn, and Carter. To her grandchildren she was their beloved "Nanny," and to her great-grandchildren she was "Big Nanny" — names spoken with affection that captured the devotion, comfort, and love she gave so freely.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Kathleen's love was the thread that held her family together. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with services to follow at 12:00 p.m., at Jefferson Memorial, 1591 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL 35235.
