Karen Meeks

Karen "Cookie" Deanne Meeks, age 58, passed away on July 27, 2025.

Karen devoted more than 30 years to Shelby Medical Center, where her warmth, compassion, and kindness left a lasting impact on those who knew her. Creative at heart and generous in spirit, she was always ready to lend a helping hand or brighten someone's day with a smile.

A longtime member of First Baptist Church Pinson, Karen's faith was an important part of her life. She found joy in life's simple pleasures-relaxing in the pool, cheering on Alabama football, and listening to her favorite rock music. Above all, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, John Meeks. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Karen is survived by her mother Diane Meeks; brother, David (Kim) Meeks; sister, Melissa (John) Walker; four nieces, Mackenzie Meeks, Grayson (Austin) Crocker, Maleah (Sam) Evans and Lacey (Ethan) Womack and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. There will be a Chapel service at the funeral home at noon with burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Pinson.
