Funeral Services for Mrs. Judith "Judy" Kinard, age 85 of Leeds, will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Gary Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining gardens.
Judy passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 in Searcy, Arkansas after a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Born in Attalla, Alabama, she attended and graduated from Tarrant High School. There she met her high school sweetheart, Jerry J. Kinard and the two were married. Sadly after 11 short years of marriage, she lost him to cancer and would never remarry. Judy had three children who she adored and loved unconditionally, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was a long-time member of South Roebuck Baptist Church and was involved in many various organizations for herself, as well as her children. Judy retired from Birmingham City School System, where she was the secretary and after-school director. She worked part time at Roebuck Plaza Baptist Church as a secretary for many years after her retirement from the Birmingham City School System. She loved ceramics, cross stitching and many other hobbies. She was an Alabama native for most of her life, until moving to Searcy, Arkansas to be closer to her daughter. Judy loved traveling in her RV with her children and making wonderful memories along the way. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend that will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children, Michael Kinard (Sandee), Mark Kinard (Christy) and Michelle Kinard Surrett (Terrill), her grandchildren, Jessica Stone (Blake), Laura Parmer (Wesley), Justin Kinard, Meghan Barnette (Brantley), Sydney Scarbrough (Evan), Sophia Surrett, her great-grandchildren, Lola Grace Johnston, John Wesley Parmer, Roczen Reid Parmer, Lander Hayes Parmer, Evie Stone, Luke Stone, Kai Kinard, Colby Kinard, Hudson Barnette, Henry Barnette and Miller Scarbrough, her sisters, Jean Rains (Doyle) of Pearland, Texas and Nancy Wolfe of LaGrange, Georgia, her brother-in-law, Tenison Wilson along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry J. Kinard, her parents, James H. Roberson, Jr. and Addi Mae Roberson, her brother, James “Jimmy” H. Roberson III, her sister, Janice Wilson, her brother-in-law, Robert Wolfe and her nephew, Bradley Wolfe.
Her grandsons, Evan Scarbrough, Justin Kinard, Wesley Parmer, Blake Stone and her nephews, Matthew Wolfe and Wilson Beasley will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
