Joyce Linderman Knight

Joyce Linderman Knight, 98, of Birmingham, Alabama, born February 1, 1928 peacefully fell asleep in Jesus, May 9, 2026, at her home with her family. 

She was the fifth of seven children that grew up on Pine Mountain, Alabama and was the last surviving sibling, Her parents were Dumas E. and Fredericka Schmonsees Linderman. Joyce graduated from Fletcher Academy in 1946 and the Fletcher Nursing School in 1950. Her career in nursing spanned almost 40 years at University of Alabama in Birmingham Hospital working primarily in Labor and Delivery and Cardiovascular Intensive Care. She married Jackson Kinght in 1953 and was mother to a daughter, Suzanne Roach of Redlands, California, and Stanley Knight of Charlotte, North Carolina. 

She was a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and a charter member establishing the Roebuck SDA Church in Birmingham. She is survived by her children Suzanne and Stanley; five grandchildren, Ryan, Robin, and Ross Knight, Jeffrey and John Roach; and 10 great grandchildren.
