Johnny Newcomb

Johnny Newcomb, 82, beloved Father, Son, Brother, Father-in-law, and Grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on November 13, 2023.

He entered this world on July 1, 1941 in Mississippi, born to Louie and Winnie Newcomb.

He was a church member at Central Baptist Church in Argo, Alabama. In his free time, he liked going on nature walks, his life as a cowboy, and watching westerns and Wheel of Fortune. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his son and daughter in law, Joseph and Ashley Kate, along with a Jack’s milkshake in his hand while out for a riding adventure.

He is survived by his sister Pansy Rutledge; son Michael Newcomb; son Jeff Newcomb; daughter Alicua Connell; son Joseph Newcomb; daughter-in-law Ashley Kate Newcomb; grandson Cooper Newcomb; grandson Coltson Newcomb.

Johnny is preceded in death by his father Louie Newcomb, mother Winnie Newcomb, and sister Judith Ann Daniels.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 20th, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a service to follow in the chapel at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens in Birmingham, Alabama. Pallbearers will be Barrett Milam, Mike Milam, Tim Grace, Cole Grace, Scott Hutto, and Fred Rutledge JR.

The family would like to thank The Village of Cook Springs nursing staff for all of their help while Johnny was in their care.
