John Edwin Graf, 79, passed away on September 29, 2026, in Alabama. He was born on February 15, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was raised and spent much of his life.
John worked for Lucent Technologies until his retirement. He proudly served in the United States Army and later continued his military service with the Army National Guard, from which he retired. During his military career, he was involved in communications and electronics.
John had many interests throughout his life. He enjoyed photography, trains and railroads, bowling, computers, traveling, and all types of music. He was involved with Faith Community Fellowship, the Heart of Dixie Railroad, and a bowling league. Whether exploring his interests, traveling to new places, or simply spending time with those closest to him, John appreciated the experiences and people that enriched his life.
Above all, nothing was more important to John than his family. He treasured the time he spent with those he loved and the many memories they created together.
John is survived by his loving wife, Norma Graf; his sons, Brian Graf and Mark Graf; and his cherished grandchildren, both by birth and by marriage, all of whom held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Graf, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
John will be remembered for his love of family, his many interests, his service to his country, and the countless memories he leaves behind. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A life well lived, a family deeply loved, and memories that will remain forever.
