John Gilley, Jr

Ret. Master Sargent, John Henry Gilley, Jr., age 79 of Locust Fork, AL passed away on June 7, 2016. He was a member of the Welcome Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from the 20th Special Forces Group, where he served in homeland and in Desert Storm. He was a life member of the Masons and the Shriners. He was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, two sisters and his daughter, Rita Sue Gilley. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Gilley; children, Donald Gene Wise (Sharon), Judy Diane Robertson, Robert Earl Gilley (Missy) and Kathy Annette Dick (Jim); grandchildren, Michael Wise, Todd Wise, Jeremy Burnett, Megan Bruce, Jonathan Gilley, Britney Quinn, Alex Macon, Nikki Macon, and Camille Dick; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be on Friday at 2 PM at Jefferson Memorial and the burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Pastor Johnny Allred will be officiating over t he services.
