John Robert Crowell

John Robert Crowell, age 85 of Birmingham, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Johnny was born on April 11, 1940 to James Robert and Bonnie Mozelle (Abner) Crowell in Talladega, Alabama. Johnny lived an active life in devotion to Jesus and his family. He led in his church body as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and served on numerous committees. The Lord filled Johnny with joy. His humor kept people around him laughing. He loved church league softball, tennis, deer hunting, and Auburn University. He was a proud Auburn graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering and loved to attend Auburn football games with his beloved daughter, Beth.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jo Carolyn (Ponder) Crowell, his twin brother, James Tracy Crowell (Sydney Ponder Crowell) and his sister, Bonnie Jean Crowell Frost. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Beth Renee Crowell, his parents and his brother-in-law, James Eddie Frost. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Pine Hill Memorial Park at 11:00 A.M. in Talladega, Alabama.
