John Frank Bowden Sr., age 75, passed away on August 12, 2026. He was a master crew member and flight engineer in the Army for over 33 years. He flew many missions on the sky crane and the chinook helicopters. He was also a family man and loved Logan Martin Lake. He lived on the lake for the last 26 years. 

Mr. Bowden is preceded in death by his parents, Mack Alfred Bowden and Dorothy Louise Crowe; brothers, Rocky and Steve Bowden.

He is survived by his two sons, John (Kim) Bowden Jr. and Jason Mark Bowden; 8 grandchildren, Kayla (Houston) Woosley, Bailey (Katie) Bowden, Autumn Bowden, Colin Bowden, Tristen Bentley, Makenna Bentley, Conner Bowman, Seth Bowmen; 3 great grandchildren, Paisley West, Hudson Bowden, Ember Woosley; sister, Sandi (Stuart) Box; several nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
