Diane Brown

Diane Brown passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 84. She was born in Lafayette, GA on June 20, 1941.

She attended Alabama Christian College and graduated from Harding University in 1963 with a degree in elementary education. As a devoted Army spouse, she navigated many moves around the country while teaching 3rd grade in Georgia, Virginia, Ohio and Texas. She retired from teaching in 1977 in order to raise her daughter, then went to work for the Social Security Administration from 1994 until retiring in 2004.

She is preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Mary Meers, as well as her brother Wayne Meers.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Jerry Brown, her daughter Jill Dunn (Aaron); grandson Jaden Housch, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A celebration of life will be held in Lafayette, GA in the spring of 2026.
