Jerry Carlile Salmon, age 78, of Locust Fork stepped into the presence of his Lord on December 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born with a servant’s heart and a craftsman’s hands, Jerry lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and an unwavering love for the people God placed in his care.
A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Jerry served his country with honor, discipline, and quiet strength—qualities that remained with him throughout his life. After his military service, he worked as a skilled machinist. Jerry could truly do anything with his hands, creating, fixing, and building with a talent that seemed only God-given. Whether it was building furniture, decks or just providing oversight, Jerry took pride in using his gifts to bless others.
Jerry was a devoted husband for 48 years to Evelyn, his faithful companion through every season. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Clara Nell Salmon, and is lovingly remembered by his wife Evelyn, sister, Carolyn Moore (Sandy), his brother, Jimmy Salmon and his niece Kimberly (Camden) and nephew Lance. Jerry was a proud father to his children, Amy James (Caleb) and Jeremy Salmon (Ashley), who will forever carry with them the lessons, humor, and quiet strength he instilled. His grandchildren—Kaylie, Carter, Deacon, Barrett, Ryleigh, and Paisley—were the joy of his later years.
Known for his simple pleasures, Jerry enjoyed Jack’s hamburgers, Coca-Cola, and a good Snickers bar. They were reminders that joy can be found in the everyday blessings of life.
Jerry’s life reflected his faith—not in loud declaration, but in steady, consistent love. He leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship, service, and devotion that will continue in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Though he will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing that Jerry is now at peace, restored and rejoicing in Heaven.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, viewing to begin at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm in the Chapel located at Jefferson Memorial Home & Gardens,1591 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL 35235.
