Jerry Brown

November 10, 1939 — January 17, 2026

Jerry Brown, of Pinson, AL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 86. He was born in Shannon, GA on November 10, 1939. He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Diane Brown, who passed away only weeks before him.

He served his country for 20 years in the United States Army, stationed all over the world, including three tours of duty in Vietnam. After retiring from the US Army in 1977, he worked for the VA Medical Center in Birmingham, AL before retiring again after another 20 years of service

Jerry was an avid golfer and thoroughly enjoyed his time with friends at Cumberland Lake Golf Course. He was a 55 year/32nd Degree Mason and Past Master of Center Point Masonic Lodge #872.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Cora Brown, as well as his brothers, R.L. Brown, Ralph Brown, Melvin Brown, Glenn Brown, and Donald Brown, and sisters, Hazel Newsom, Susie Carroll, and Karen McGill.

He is survived by his daughter Jill Dunn (Aaron); grandson Jaden Housch, brothers, Richard Brown and Randall Brown (Barbara), sister Wanda Angle, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A joint celebration of life for Jerry and Diane will be held in Lafayette, GA in the spring of 2026.
