Jean Lorraine Morton 88 of Birmingham passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Jean was born January 16, 1933 in North Carolina to Nettie and Jim Clark. Jean was a long time member of the McElwain Baptist Church, the Concordia Club Auxiliary for Women, the JBY Dance Club, Cheram’s Dance Club, Sophisticates, The Club and the Vestavia Monday Night Dancers. Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. Morton, her son, David C. Morton, her mother, Nettie Ellis Simmons Clark ,her father, Jim Conway Clark, 5 sisters and 7 brothers. Jean is survived by her beloved sons, Schley C. Morton (Traci), James H. Morton (Fay) and Kenneth W. Morton; her cherished grandchildren, Scott Morton (Ashley), Deborah Morton, Joseph W. Morton (Jesse) and Kenneth Chris Morton; and loved great grandchildren, Samuel Morton and Aspen Morton and her sister, Marie. The family will receive family and friends Monday, September 13, 2021 beginning at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm followed with a 12:00 Chapel service at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with burial within Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Birmingham, AL. Donations may be made St Jude Hospital at www.stjude.org.
