Janet Tillery

Janet Dunn Tillery was born on October 2, 1929 in St. Petersburg, Florida, a daughter of Thomas Dunn and Elizabeth Campbell Dunn. She died on July 17, 2023 in Birmingham, Alabama. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Churchill Dunn and her nieces, Meredith Even Larson and Tiffany Ann Dunn. Janet was the surviving widow of the late William Robert Tillery who was the Sr. Vice President of the Birmingham Area Chamber of Commerce. Janet taught art for several years at the Birmingham Museum of Art where Bill was also a docent. Janet was an outstanding artist in her own right. She participated in numerous art shows throughout the South including the Bluff Park Art Show where she once received the top award. Janet’s paintings were featured on the cover of Alabama Artist Magazine several times and one of her paintings was displayed in the Governor’s Mansion. Services will be on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 10 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
