James Thorn

James "Jamie" Carson Thorn was born on August 22, 1966, and passed away on June 12, 2024. Jamie was an audio engineer who was passionate about his profession. Through his time as a sound man he built strong professional relationships that developed into a family that loved, fought and supported each other fiercely.

Jamie is preceded in death by his father, Durwood Thorn, mother, Syble Kidd, uncle, Carson Kidd, and brother, Durwood Thorn Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife Aisha, brother-in-law Derek (Kierra), his nephews Steven (Hannah), Michael, King, and niece, London.

Jamie grew into a man of integrity and service, generously giving of his time, resources, and talents whenever he could. He considered marrying his bride, Aisha, one of his greatest accomplishments. They shared their love of live music, escaping on romantic getaways to the mountains or the beach, and enjoyed hobbies together such as golf and archery.

Jamie was a fighter. His positivity and determination showed up during his final days with us on this earth. 

In early June, Jamie shared the following: "If you can give blood, please do. If you can help with donations to help cure these awful cancers, do that too. My wish is all who know me-from my past to not so long ago-just be kind. Try to be a little kinder every day. Go enjoy life. Don't get caught up in the rat race. Run towards grace."
