James Rawson, Iii

December 12, 1946 — October 15, 2022

James Milburn Rawson III “Jim” of Prattville, Alabama passed away on Saturday, October 15th due to heart complications. Jim was born on December 12th. 1946 to James Milburn Jr. and Dorothy Rawson in Meridian, Mississippi. He is survived by his sister Rosa Lee and her three children, and his sons James “Jamie” and Robert, and his grandson Benjamin. Jim attended Marion Military Institute and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Troy University. He worked at DANA corporation in Montgomery for approximately 20 years. He was happily married for 49 years to his wife Brenda Powell Rawson (deceased) . Many know and appreciate Jim as a gregarios, outgoing man with a kind soul. He enjoyed and craved his routine activities such as his trips to the bank and visiting his “Bank family,” his complimentary cookie or “two,” cashing in his $5 coupon at the Dollar General, and checking for daily “marked down” meat at the Food Outlet, attending his Sunday School Class meetings, and going to physical therapy at the Y. However, his week was never complete without his Wednesday Poker night with his poker buddies. Ultimately, he was a man who appreciated the companionship of others, and he will be greatly missed by us all. A Celebration of Life will be held this Friday, October 21st at The Gathering Place, 2410 Wall St. Millbrook, AL 36054 (Across from the Fantail.) the church of his physical therapist James Gaymnon, who he greatly admired, who will be delivering the Eulogy.
