James Mckaig, Jr

James Nelson McKaig, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, following a long illness. He was predeceased by his father, James Nelson McKaig, Sr., and his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Samuel Arthur Keller, & Col. & Mrs. Nelson McKaig, Jr. He is survived by his mother, June Keller McKaig; daughter, Krystal McKaig Torcivia (Salvatore) & grandsons, Sully & Samuel Torcivia; brother, Keller Wayne McKaig (Alisha) & nephew, Morgan Keller McKaig. He was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Trussville. James graduated from Banks High School in 1978 & from Rets with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1982. He was employed by Alabama Power in Birmingham & by Digital in Montgomery before assuming leadership of one of the family businesses, Plastikoil of South Bookbinders. Ill health necessitated his retirement in 2010, & he spent the last few years of his life researching the stock market. Visitation will be Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Jefferson Memorial Chapel in Trussville, between 1PM-2PM with services at 2PM followed by a private graveside service for family only.
