James "Jim" Porter Jarrell

James P. Jarrell, 80, of Birmingham, AL went home to be with his Lord on October 28, 2025. James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Cain Jarrell, sons Mark (Janice), David (Erin), six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. James was a graduate of the University of Alabama and was mechanical engineer and licensed Professional Engineer with Southern Company Services and also worked as a Nuclear Safety Engineer with Southern Nuclear. James was a long-time member of Third Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL. Services will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, AL on Friday, October 31 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Brock officiating.

The family wishes to thank Enhabit Home Health and Hospice for their loving care of James. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Third Presbyterian Church, 617 22nd Street South, Birmingham, AL 35233 or to Enhabit Home Health and Hospice at One Chase Corporate Dr. Suite 21OB, Hoover, AL 35244.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
