James Green

James D. Green of Leeds passed away November 28, 2012 at St. Vincent's East. He was 88 years old. A veteran of WWII, having served in the Army Air Corp, Mr. Green returned to resume a job with Alabama Gas Company, with whom he worked for over 40 years. He was a loyal member of Valley View Baptist Church. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents, E.V. and Jewel Ray Shaw Green and a sister, Betty Goodwin, and her husband James. He is survived by his loving daughters, Jackie Headley (Woodya�"deceased), Cindy Stuart (Tommy), Sandra Green, and Carolyn Cook (David). Mr. Green is also survived by his grandchildren, Robin, Lindsay, Lauren, Lacy, Tyler, Alex, Timothy, and Nicholas; as well as great grandchildren, Eli, Connor, Carson, and Colton. Visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville on Friday, November 30, 2012, from 1 until 2 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be officiated by Pastor Chad Hayes in the adjacent cemetery's Field of Honor at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mr. Green's church: Valley View Baptist Church of Leeds, AL at www.valleyviewbaptist.com Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
