Obituary

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jeanie "Nini" Page Wallace, age 74 of Birmingham, will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with David McConnell officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining gardens.

Jacqueline Jeanie “NiNi” Page Wallace grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, where she graduated from Huffman High School before continuing her education at the University of Montevallo, graduating in 1973. She began her career as an elementary school teacher, reflecting a lifelong love of helping and caring for others, and later went on to work for UnitedHealthcare until her retirement.

Jeanie married Mark Troy Wallace and, above all else, treasured her family. Her grandchildren held an especially precious place in her heart and brought tremendous joy to her life. Affectionately known as “NiNi,” she will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to those around her and for her genuine desire to help others.

She had a special love for animals, enjoyed spending time gardening, and was a devoted Auburn fan who loved anything and everything Auburn. Jeanie’s greatest happiness could be found in the people and things she loved most—her family, her grandchildren, her animals, her garden, and the opportunity to make life a little better for someone else.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Wallace, her children, Ryan Duke and Jeremy Duke (Nikita), her grandchildren, Aubrie Duke, Bentley Duke, Adleigh Duke and Zaralee Dawson, her siblings, Mary Ledbetter (David) and Sidney Page III (Jena), her nieces and nephews, Alyson McConnell (David), David Hicks (Kristy), Christopher Ledbetter (Haley), and Sidney Miller (Cottrell), along with a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Sidney Page, Jr. and Jacqueline Jean Page.

Mark Wallace, Ryan Duke, Jeremy Duke, Aubrie Duke, David Hicks, Christopher Ledbetter, Gabriel Hicks and Will McConnell will serve as Pallbearers.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
