Jack Goodwin

A celebration of life will be held Monday, November 20th, 2023, at 3:00 pm, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home for Jack Goodwin, age 85, who passed away Wednesday, November 15th, 2023. Nathan Stockton will officiate. Arrangements under the direction of Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens.

Jack was a Member of North Park Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army for three years, being honorably discharged in 1959. He had a worker's heart, retiring from more than one employer throughout his life, including Standard Oil Co., and Home Baking Company, now Flowers Baking Company. Jack was a very sociable person, who always had a kind word or a joke to say to anyone who would listen, he even went on to be a greeter at Sam's Club after his retirement, reinforcing his upbeat communal attitude. He was a kind person who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Leland and Lillie Goodwin, and siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Goodwin; children, Pam Stockton, Steve Goodwin, Lynne Whiting Kerr; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Don Goodwin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's memory to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
