Madeline "Pete" Reynolds

June 17, 1928 — January 7, 2024

 

On Sunday, January 7 th, 2024, Madeline “Pete” Reynolds, our Family Icon, passed due to natural causes. She was our inspiration, our example, our teacher, the artist, the gardener, the comandante, a collector of anything, and our mother.  Her knowledge of the Bankruptcy Court, quick wit, and her ability to accomplish lent to a reputation known by so many in the Legal System. Her life spanned through every major historical event this country experienced since 1928. She was creative, incisive, opinionated, imaginative, insightful, and mischievous. She raised four daughters and a son, managed all life’s ups and downs, and became a friend you could depend on to so very many people. She is irreplaceable and will be forever loved and missed.

Pete is preceded in Death by her parents, Albert and Julia Lee; brothers, Henry Clyde Lee, Sr., John Boyd Lee, James Edward Lee, Albert Eldridge Lee; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Lee, Lillian Frances Uptain, Pauline Lee; husbands, Eddy Greer “Bill” Funderburke, George Ray “Slim” Reynolds; daughters; Sharon “Shari” Lee Funderburke Spring, Lynda Elaine Funderburke Cook, Debra Kaye Funderburke Gutherie.

She is survived by, daughter, Teresa “Terri” Lovell (Howard) “Chuck”, son, Thomas E. Reynolds (Kathy); grandsons, George R and Leidys Reynolds,II, John T. Reynolds, William Lee and Cecilia Belding, Timothy Eugene and Michelle Cook, Jack Bryan and Tina Eaken; granddaughters, Gina S. Reynolds,  Lisa A. Reynolds (David Turner), Julia Madelle Alley; great grandchildren, Henry-Morgan Belding, Evan Cook, Dylan and Caroline Brewster, Matthew Cook, Kameron and Danielle Eaken, Jacob and Kali Katzfey, Laura Ashley Alley Williams, Tiffany Marie Alley, Desiree Renee Alley; great-great grandchildren, Lilith Brewster and Blakely Katzfey. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 15 ,2024 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a service to follow in the chapel of Jefferson Memorial in Trussville.  Burial will take place immediately in the adjoining cemetery.
