Henry “Martin” Yarborough was born on November 11, 1943, and passed away on November 26, 2025.
Martin was an accomplished athlete at Banks High School before graduating from Hewitt-Trussville High School. Martin also attended Jefferson State Community College, where he was a member of the college’s basketball and bowling teams. After college, he continued to compete in basketball leagues and high-level softball, bowling, and fishing tournaments. However, his true passion was golf. Although he did not take up the sport until he was in his twenties, Martin quickly developed into a low-handicap golfer. Athletic fields, basketball courts, golf courses, bowling lanes, and waterways were places that Martin developed meaningful friendships that he maintained throughout his life. Just weeks before his passing, he was regularly playing golf with his friends at Grayson Valley Country Club, where he was a member for many decades. Also an accomplished businessman, Martin owned and operated a company that rented and sold medical equipment. Subsequently, he was a part owner of Catfish Cabin in Roebuck and then Trios in Trussville, which he owed with his brother, Gary, and his cousin, Alan. Martin will be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, as well as a loyal and devoted friend to many.
Martin is preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Edith, and his brother, Gary.
He is survived by his sister, Wanda Aldridge, sons Brent Yarborough (Whitney) and Brian Yarborough (Christy), and grandson, Jacob Lewis.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, viewing to begin at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm in the Chapel located at Jefferson Memorial,1591 Gadsden Highway Birmingham, AL 35235.
