Helen Louise Slaughter

Helen Louise Slaughter, age 92 born to Reflie Vernon and Mary Raia Lucas, in Birmingham, AL. Helen went home to be with the Lord on July 3. She retired from Social Security after 37 years of dedication. She was a loving wife, mother and Granny. Helen is preceded in death in 1957 by her husband, W. Ralph Slaughter, and her father, mother, four sisters and one brother. She is survived by her son, Jimmy (Jan), daughters Betty (Bobby) Holmes; Mary Edge; Grandchildren Angela (Brian) McKee, Chris (Nikki), and Heather (Charles) Nelson; three Great Grandchildren, four Great-Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was an Eastern Star Sister. She loved gardening, watching AL/AU football, ice skating and her yorkie “Chloe”. Helen will be greatly missed by her loved ones. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville viewing Sunday 5pm to 7pm. Graveside Service on Monday, July 8th at 11am at Forest Hill Cemetery, Birmingham.
