Glenda Fay (Ratliff) Lockridge, 88, of Moody, AL, passed away on June 17, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Barnell Lockridge; her parents, Erskine Edward Ratliff and Edna Marie (Terry) Ratliff; her brother, Raymond Edward Ratliff Sr.; and her nephew, Raymond Edward Ratliff II.
Survivors include her only son, Evan Edward Lockridge; his wife, Deborah Lynn (Johnson) Lockridge; their daughter and Glenda’s only grandchild, Capra Marie Lockridge; and her nephew, John Alex Ratliff.
Glenda was born and raised in Pinson, Alabama, where she also graduated from high school. In late 1963, she married Donald B. Lockridge in a small ceremony at First United Methodist Church in Birmingham, with their dear friend Denson N. Franklin Sr. officiating. She and Donald lived in Atlanta, GA, and Tustin, CA, before returning to the Birmingham, AL, area in late 1969. She was married to her one true love for nearly 50 years until her husband passed away in early 2013.
Glenda spent many years working as a legal secretary, including for noted Birmingham attorneys John Carlton, Maurice Bishop, Ronald Stichweh, George Boles and David Vann. She was a devoted Alabama football fan, loved to read, made a mean pan of cornbread dressing, and never left the house without earrings and lipstick.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
