Glen Stephenson

Glen Eric Stephenson passed away peacefully at home in Birmingham on August 5, with his mother at his side. Glen was 65.

He was born in Birmingham on June 22, 1960. He graduated from Huffman High School, and after earning a bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, worked at the Social Security Administration.

Glen was a lifelong sports enthusiast and loved the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was an avid bowler; in his younger years he achieved a score of 299, and more recently, rolled a 297. Whenever he was able, he enjoyed league bowling at Bowlero Riverview with his teammates and friends of many years. His bowling team has chosen the new name “Team Glen” in his memory.

Glen was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Glen Stephenson. He is survived by his mother, Katherine Hood Stephenson, his brother, Terry Lynn Stephenson, and Terry’s wife Dana. Glen loved his nephews Mitchell, Maxwell, and Mikolas Glen, and his niece Sophia. He will be deeply missed by his girlfriend, Laura Leigh McGuirk.Services will be held Wednesday, August 13, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, with visitation at 1pm and service at 2pm. Burial will follow at Hood Cemetery in Blountsville at approximately 4pm.
