George S. Ellard, Jr.

Graveside Services for Mr. George S. Ellard, Jr., age 76 of Irondale, will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 12:30 P.M. at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.

Mr. Ellard passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Fairhaven. A lifelong resident of Alabama, he graduated from Tarrant High school in 1966. After graduation, he joined the United States Airforce where he honorably served as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist from 1966 until 1968 at George AFB in California. Mr. Ellard retired from ABC Coke Plant for Drummond, CO. in Tarrant, AL. He loved to watch Alabama Football and Fox News. He also enjoyed sitting at Jack’s and socializing with his friends. Mr. Ellard watched all sports, and loved hearing stories about his grandchildren, Gray and Evie, along with spending time with them.

He is survived by his sons, Chris Ellard and Jeremy Ellard (Rachel), his grandchildren, Gray and Evie, his nieces, Renee Coiner (Jeff) and Jennifer Sanford, his nephews, Ray Stricklin, Jay Stricklin (Anji), Bob Parsons (Diane), Jeff Parsons (Phyllis) and Steve Parsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George S., Sr. and Edna L. Ellard, and his sisters, Patricia Parsons (Bob) and Betty Sanford.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
