Frances Black

Frances Nolen Black, age 94, of Moody, AL passed away on December 3, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Birmingham, AL where she spent most of her life. She attended Hewitt Trussville High School. Frances was a member of First Baptist Church of Moody.

Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Ormand Black; her parents, Roy and Edith Nolen; son-in-law, Randall E. Ellis.

She is survived by her children, Mary Black Ellis, Brenda Black Scoggins, Michael Black (Julie), and Annette Black Pugh (Alan); one brother, Charles Nolen (Mellie); eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

The funeral for Frances will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. The visitation for friends and family will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place immediately after the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial’s adjoining cemetery. Pastor Brad Mosley will preside over the services.
