Funeral Services are being arranged by Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Hwy., Birmingham, Alabama 35235. Services are being held on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Visitation starts at 1:00PM, service at 2:00PM, followed by a grave-side service.
Eva W. Smith, age 98 of Cropwell, Alabama, died peacefully at home on January 26 surrounded by her loving family.
Eva was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Eva loved the lake life, living on Logan Martin Lake in Riverside, AL for over 30 years. She especially enjoyed riding in her pontoon boat with family and fishing with her husband Sonny of 55 years before his passing. Eva loved cooking for her family and working in her flower beds and vegetable garden. Eva was guided in her daily life by her Christian faith and attended Riverside Baptist Church in Riverside for many years. Eva had a servants heart and volunteered her time at local Christian charity organizations for many years. Most of all Eva loved spending time with her family. They were her pride and joy. Eva was blessed to have the best daughters-in-law she could ever hope for, Michelle and Crystal, as they were always willing to help Eva with anything she needed.
Eva is survived by her son Randy Smith (Crystal); grandchildren Tom Smith (Angela), Lyndsey Smith, Lauren Smith, Steven Cramer (Erica) and Katie Gregory (Micah); great grandchildren Noelle Smith and Dylan Smith; brother Howard White (Doris) and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Lewis and Ada Belle White; husband Alfred “Sonny” Smith; son Tommy Smith (Michelle); brothers Clarence White (Fay), Eddy White (Jean), Curtis White (Betty), Roy White (Joy); sisters Sue Stoddard and Bernice Powell (Jack).
