Essie Duncan

Essie L. "Nanny" Duncan, age 83, of Vestavia Hills, passed away June 25, 2009. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters, and son Tommy Bridgewater. Services will be Saturday, June 27, at 2pm in the Chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens Trussville. Brother Fritz Harter officiating. Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm Friday. She is survived by her husband Henry P. Duncan Jr., daughters Jane (Bob) Franklin, Mary June (Mike) Martin, sons Danny (Melba) Bridgewater, Henry Daniel Duncan, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, daughter in law Linda Bridgewater, and 2 nephews, special friends Ann Woodall, Peggy and Joe "Bill" Benton. The family would like to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice Services, especially Cecilia Pearce RN and Hospice Assistant Velvet Tate. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
