Ernestine Durham Bennett, 67, a resident of Trussville, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2015 after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer. Ernestine was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Emily Wilson Durham and Hugh Durham on Nov. 13, 1947. She attended the Knox County school system where she pursued a passion of photography. She retired from Rexam after giving over 30 years of service. She was also a self-made entrepreneur owning several businesses: This N That, Emily's, Gift Gallery, New York Reflections, and JB Pierson Mortgage (which was named after both of her grandsons). She was actively involved in Breast Cancer Charities, one being the local Turn Trussville Pink. She enjoyed interior decorating, shopping, and spending time with her family. Ernestine is survived by her two daughters, Renee Bennett Motley(Kenneth) of Birmingham, AL and Ruthea Bennett Cosley (Andre) of Knoxville, TN, two sisters Elaine Feigenbaum (Alan) of New York, NY and EmmaJean Evans of Grosse Pointe, MI, four grandchildren Tiffanie Bennett Reed (Will), Jacoby Bennett, Pier Bennett, and Pierson Bennett Cosley, two great grandchildren Tatum Reed and Boston Reed, two nieces Kim Thompson of Lawrenceville, GA and JeanMichele Moore (Patrick) of Fanwood, NJ and nephew Hank Williams (Mayida) of Montclair, NJ, a host of cousins and friends; and a devoted friend Rosie Cook.
