Emmett Lee Doyle, 89, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023.

 

Emmett was born the oldest of three children to Lizzie and Vernon Doyle in Susan Moore, Alabama on December 9, 1934. He was employed by Thompson Tractor for 44 years and retired in 1998 as Parts Operations Manager. After retiring, he joined his son, Philip Doyle, in the sporting goods industry and served 14 years.

 

As a young man, his love of life was playing football, baseball, and softball while marrying a young lady named Virginia Lee Phillips. During his twenties, he served in the 117th Unit of the Air National Guard and during a national crisis activated to Air Force duty in Dreux, France during the Berlin Crisis. His lovely wife enjoyed sports too as they teamed up in bowling tournaments and water skiing for fun during their 20's.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lizzie, father, Vernon and brother, Harold.

 

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lee Doyle, son, Philip Doyle, two grandchildren Allie and Seth Doyle, and sister Caroline Weems.

 

Serving as pallbearers are: Scott Blackmon, Jack Blackmon, Greg Gilbert, Seth Doyle, Philip Doyle and Brian Cook. Honorary Johnny Osborn.
