Ellen Lee Madison

Ellen Lee Cantley Madison, age 81, of Locust Fork, Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026. Born on December 14, 1944, in Birmingham, Alabama, Ellen was the beloved daughter of Robert “Bob” Jackson Cantley and Allyne Montez Massey Cantley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Bob” Cantley and Allyne Cantley; her brother, Roland “Sonny” Cantley; her stepdaughter, Sharon Dowler; and her beloved husband of 52 years, Henry Lynn Madison. Ellen is survived by her daughters, Michelle Madison Cain and husband Everett, and Meredith Madison Humphryes and husband Danny; her brother, Larry Cantley, and his wife Jham; her stepdaughter, Deborah Allen; and her son‑in‑law, Phil Dowler. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Allen Cain and wife Susan, Miranda Gajdos and fiancé Alex, Andrew Cain and wife Kaylee, Abigail Humphryes, Damian Allen, Matthew Wooten, and Jessie Wooten, along with numerous great‑grandchildren, great‑great‑grandchildren, nieces, and nephews whom she loved dearly. Ellen will be remembered most for the deep love she had for her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with those she loved, and she devoted her life to caring for and supporting them. Her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind treasured memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. A memorial service will be held at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, Alabama, on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Visitation will begin at 1 PM, with the service following at 2 PM. Friends and family are welcome to gather for fellowship at Ellen’s home following the graveside service.
