Elizabeth A. "Bette" Tittle was born on September 6, 1928 to Wilbur and Frances Castor in Mississippi. She grew up in Jackson, MS and Clanton, AL. She later moved to Birmingham and raised her two sons after she was widowed at a young age. Many years later, she remarried and moved to Irondale. She lived there until March 2026. 

Bette loved watching Auburn football, and spending time with her family. She dearly loved her grandchildren.

Bette is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Frances, Jean Duke, Jackie Henderson, her 7 sisters, her brother, Tom Johnson, her first husband, Alvin Hopkins, and her second husband, Chester Tittle.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Hopkins and Bob (Emily) Hopkins, grandchildren, Jeffrey Hopkins, Molly Hopkins, sister Carole Stanfield, several nieces and nephews including Lisa Duke, who lovingly took care of her during her last months of life. 

A memorial service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with minister Heath McPherson to officiate.
