Elizabeth Gail Manning

November 14, 1934 — June 9, 2024

Gail Crye Manning age 89 of Birmingham, Al went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Sunday June 9, 2024.  She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee.  She graduated from East Knoxville High School in 1952 and attended the University of Tennessee.  She worked as a dental assistant for 15 years.  In 1957 she married Robert Manning of Dandridge, Tennessee.  Gail was a member of McElwain Baptist Church since 1959 and she was a long-time member of the McElwain Choir.  She taught kindergarten at McElwain, served on the kitchen committee, and served in the Loving Touch ministry.  She was a member of Agape Sunday School Class and a long-time volunteer at Baptist Montclair-Trinty Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert Manning, father Clyde Crye, mother Margaret Crye Beckett, and stepfather Albert Beckett. Survivors are her sons, Scott Manning of Franklin, Tn, David and Concetta Manning of Birmingham, Al., grandchildren Margaret Manning, Matthew Manning, and Caroline Manning, niece Kim and JP Rickels of Pelham, Al, nephews Walter and Krisalyn Crye of Birmingham, Al, Steven Manning of Knoxville, Tn, and Michael Manning of Knoxville Tn.  

Visitation will be at Hope Community Church on Friday, June 14th, 2024 at 10:00 AM with funeral services to follow at 11:00 AM.
