Dorothy Phillips

Dorothy Elaine Hanson Phillips, was born March 1, 1939 and passed away February 19, 2012. She was a graduate of Hewitt Trussville class of 1957, was employed at Social Security Administration for over 40 years. She was a member of Sun Valley Church of Christ in Center Point, and a former member of Sumiton Church of Christ in Sumiton, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents L.B. and Ella Hanson, brother Franklin Hanson, grandchildren Jonas Phillips and Cameron Mills. Services will be on Thursday Feb. 23 at 12pm in the Chapel at Jefferson Memorial with burial at McCormack Cemetery in Dora. Visitation will be from 5 until 7pm Wednesday. She is survived by her husband Fred H. Phillips, children Steve (Emily) Phillips, Wanda (Ronnie) Mills, David (Anita) Phillips, Jan Hamrick, grandchildren Sara Phillips, Margaret Phillips, Lauren Mills, Jonathan Mills, James Mills, Megan Phillips, Ethan Phillips, Ashlea Hamrick, Paige Hamrick, Jake Hamrick, siblings Gene (Joyce) Hanson, Tricia (Jerry) Bellamy, and Alice (Paul) Hollis. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leukemia Society. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
