Dorothy Jean (Phillips) Moore, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 11, 2026.She was a woman of deep and unwavering Christian faith that guided her throughout her life. Known for her sweet disposition, gentle spirit, and kind heart, she touched the lives of many and reflected love and compassion to everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Orval “Terry” Moore. She is survived by her loving children: Randy Moore (Theresa), Teresa Moore (Michael), Howard Haney, Janice Cates (Steve, deceased), and Morris Parker; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members. Preceded in death by her four siblings and seven half-siblings, she was the last surviving member of her family generation. Visitation will be held Friday, May 15, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, with funeral services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Flowers are welcome (purple was her favorite color) or memorial contributions may also be made to the Parkinson’s Association in her honor. Though she is now at peace with the Lord, her strength, resilience, unwavering faith, and joyful spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew and loved her for generations to come. “To live is Christ, and to die is gain.” — Philippians 1:21
