Donald Skelton

Donald S. Skelton, age 81, Birmingham, AL passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2010. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Peggy Austin Skelton,of Birmingham, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Anthony Sazera, Suwanee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Paula Skelton, Clinton, MS; five grandchildren, Brandon and Jennifer Skelton, Whitney and Seth Little, Heath Skelton, Leslie Sazera and Jill Sazera; three great grandchildren, Tucker Skelton, Alden Little and Adleigh Skelton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Skelton was born August 1, 1929 in Tarrant, AL. He was a 1947 graduate of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, AL and was a 1954 graduate of Howard College where he received his Bachelors Degree. He was a retired accountant, and a member and past president of Alabama Association of Credit Executives. Mr. Skelton was a member of North Park Baptist Church in Trussville, AL and a former member and Deacon of Plainview Baptist Church in Tarrant, AL. The family will receive friends at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday September 22, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Wilkes officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
