Donald Vernon Scheinert

Funeral Services for Donald Vernon Scheinert (Pop), 87 of Trussville, will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Trussville, Alabama. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Pop who was far too clever to be ordinary and far too stubborn to be forgotten. Known for his cantankerous attitude and perfectly timed sarcasm, he had a way of making us laugh. Though he may be gone from our sight, his voice will live on in every sarcastic remark, every shared laugh, and every moment that reminds us to hold tight to our faith, family, and love.

Donald Scheinert was born January 13, 1939, in Cullman County, Alabama to Hugo and Della Scheinert. He passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Trussville, Alabama at the age of 87 years. Mr. Scheinert is survived his daughter, Cathy Evans (Lamar); son, Greg Scheinert; sister, Zellene Ingle; grandchildren, Ronnie Booth and Trevon Booth; great-grandchildren, Kinsey Carden and Emma Heyer; a host of nieces and nephews and special friends.

Mr. Scheinert was preceded un death by his wife of 67 years, Sue Scheinert; his parents, Hugo and Della Scheinert; his brother, Frank Scheinert.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Booth, Trevor Booth, Steve Ingle, Ron Ingle, Craig Head and Juan Bernal.

Pastor Brad Smith will be officiating over the Celebration of Life Service with Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
