Delores Ann Deason Goin, 97, of Foley, Alabama, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 13, 2026 with her loving daughter by her side.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama, followed by a graveside service at 12:00 p.m.
Born on January 9, 1929, Delores lived a life marked by faith, perseverance, kindness, and love. Born deaf, she overcame challenges throughout her life with remarkable courage and determination. She attended the Alabama School for the Deaf in Talladega, Alabama, where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Edwin Russell Goin.
Delores and Edwin built a life together in the Birmingham area, raising their family through hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion. She worked at Dewberry Printing and later at the Golden Glow Donut Shop in Center Point, Alabama. Known for her sweet spirit and caring heart, Delores touched countless lives with her kindness, compassion, and steadfast faith.
A devoted Christian, Delores faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Birmingham, Baptist Church of the Covenant, Roebuck Park Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church of Trussville. She especially loved serving in the nursery ministry, caring for children and sharing Christ’s love through simple acts of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Russell Goin.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Jo Goin Partain of Foley, Alabama; her son, Carey Roland Goin of Jacksonville, Florida; her grandchildren, Jonathan “Bubba” Rosenow of Huntsville, Alabama, and Jennifer McBrayer of Foley, Alabama along with her great-grandchildren, Jonathan Brian Rosenow, Ellie Anne Rosenow, and Colton Luke McBrayer.
Though born into a world of silence, Delores never lived a silent life. Her kindness, faith, perseverance, and love spoke volumes to everyone who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that the woman who never heard the sounds of this world is now hearing the glorious sounds of Heaven and the voice of her Savior saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Delores will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all whose lives she touched.
