Delmer Dowda

Delmer Edward Dowda, age 86 of Cahaba Heights passed away on July 1, 2011. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of The Alabama Mineral Lapidary Society. He was a Merchant Marine and in the Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Nell Dowda; son, Del Dowda; brother, Freeman Dowda; other family member, Edna Carroll. Services will be on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 12:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Ed Wallen will be officiating over the services. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
