On March 28, 2026, David “Dave” Allan Loggins of Trussville, Alabama, passed away at the age of 47.
Dave was born on September 8, 1978, to parents Allan and Linda Loggins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Orbin and Velma Loggins and Olen and Jo Ellen Lee. Dave is survived by his son, Gabrielle “Gabe” Loggins; parents, Allan and Linda Loggins; brother, Joseph “Joe” Loggins (Laura); and sister, Amy Slawson (Bob). He also leaves behind a niece, many nephews, and aunts and uncles, all of whom loved him deeply.
Perceiving his talent and professional promise, he was awarded an apprenticeship at Drafting Service Incorporated while still in high school. After graduating from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1996, he decided to continue his love for learning and attended Jefferson State Community College. Notably, he earned numerous degrees in mechanical drafting and structural engineering services. Upon completing his education, he became vice president of the company and served faithfully for many years.
Few things delighted him more than music, tending to his saltwater aquariums, and experimenting in the kitchen. Intelligent, witty, and a kid at heart—this is how he will lovingly be remembered. While these words cannot adequately sum up his life, they offer a glimpse of what it meant to know him. As he was an avid Dr. Seuss enthusiast, we leave you with these words: “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.” Dave was, and always will be, one of a kind.
