David Holleman Keith, Jr. went home to join his children and their mother March 17, 2026. He had been a resident of Cavalier Healthcare after retiring from the carpet and flooring business. A recent Facebook post stated “Our Cavalier family is heartbroken at the passing of Mr. David Keith. As Resident Council President and Mr. Cavalier 2025, he was a true leader and a bright light in our community. His impact will not be forgotten, and his memory will live on in the hearts of residents and staff alike.”
He was preceded in death by his mother Alice Murray Keith, father David Holleman Keith Sr., son David Brandon Keith, daughter Davida Michelle Keith and their mother Annette McNabb. He is survived by his brother Alan Keith and wife Jenny of Murphy, North Carolina; granddaughters Leah and Libby Keith; granddaughter Kayla and husband Adam Gurley, great grandchildren Ryder, Marley, Sylvie and Josie; and extended family Ronnie and Cheryl Holtzclaw, and Diane and Steve Houston of Belton, South Carolina.
David served in the Army Reserve National Guard. Most recently, he owned Eastwood Carpets and Flooring . He enjoyed his cars. He helped his son, Brandy, build a racing Camaro that was later sold to Dale Earnhardt. He built his own Model T street racer with a Corvette drive train. Of course, he had a Harley Davidson. His final companion and roommate was Bailey, a very spoiled miniature Yorkshire Terrier. And, of course, he was a dedicated Alabama football fan.
He will be missed by his friends, especially on the Trussville Country Club where he was a frequent fixture. If there’s a golf course in heaven, he’s there.
Graveside services are to be held Saturday, April 11 at 10am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Highway, in Trussville, Alabama with Vincent Martin officiating. Attached are maps (Jeff Mem Gdns.pdf) showing the location of David’s burial site, Garden Of The Christus, 35-C-4 through Gate 1. Friends and acquaintances are encouraged to join family members for a graveside tribute to David.
