Obituary

Dave C. Ingram, Jr. age 93, passed away on July 21, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his first wife, Peggie Campbell Ingram, with whom he shared two children, Tim and Jeff. Dave is survived by his wife, Doris Latta Ingram; his sons, Tim (Becky) and Jeff (Elana); his stepson Todd Parrish; his grandchildren, David, Katelyn (Kyle Deckelbaum), Xan (Jonathan Flowers), and Jack; and his great-granddaughter, Stella Mae Flowers.

Born in Clear Springs, Blount County, Alabama in 1933, Dave was the youngest of 11 children of the Dave and Bessie Ingram family. He attended Clear Springs school and church, graduating from Blount County High School in Oneonta. In 1951, he joined the U.S. Air Force, trained at Keesler Field, Miss., and served at Far East Air Force Headquarters in Tokyo until his discharge in 1954.

He was employed by the American Cast Iron and Pipe Company from 1954 until 1973, then joined his brother, Bob, at East Lake Auto Sales Company, Inc., where he worked until his retirement in 2008. Dave attended evening courses at Jefferson State Junior College, earning an associate degree in business in 1975.

Dave and Peggie June Campbell were married in the Clear Springs Methodist Church. Peggie and Dave became members of the Huffman United Methodist Church in 1955. Dave married Doris Latta Parrish, also a member of Huffman United Methodist Church, in February 1988 and they have remained members of that church to this day. Many days and nights were spent with Doris, friends and family traveling to Alabama football and basketball games around the Southeast as well as countless hours spent at home watching sports of all kinds including NASCAR.

Throughout his life, Dave was proud of his Blount County heritage. He was often heard to introduce himself to new people by asking where they were from, always looking for fellow Blount County residents. He and his brother, Mark, loved to spend an afternoon driving to Blount County revisiting favorite places and talking to all of the locals.

A memorial service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Homes and Gardens on July 25 at 2:00. Visitation with family will be held at 12:30 followed by general visitation at 1:00.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation to Huffman United Methodist Church, 711 Gene Reed Road, Birmingham, AL, 35235 or Big Oak Ranch, 6000 Shelley Drive, Springville, AL, 35146.
