Daniel Patrick Mitchell, Sr. was born January 10, 1973, and passed away March 13, 2022.
Daniel was born in Dallas, TX and raised in Birmingham, AL. He recently resided in Myrtle Beach, SC. Daniel was a good man. He believed in and loved God. He always did his best to work hard. If you knew Daniel, then you knew his family and him putting them first. Anything he did he did for the love of his family. Some may not realize how religious he was, but he prayed daily. Sometimes he could be found laying across his bed praying about the day. Daniel was a fun loving, always happy, never met a stranger kind of guy. Daniel’s perspective on life: “If I can make one person laugh or smile today, then I’ve done my job.”
Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Burns Echols and Brother-in-law, Roger Giles.
Daniel is survived by his son, Daniel Patrick Mitchell, Jr (Thea); his daughter, Hope Sims of Argo, AL; his grandson Daniel Patrick Mitchell, III “Trace” of Hoover, AL, his significant other Anna Oden; father, John Mitchell, Sr (Lucy) of San Antonio, TX; sister, Theresa Mitchell Giles of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, John Mitchell, Jr of Holtom City, TX; nephews, Joseph Canibano and David Mitchell; great-nephews, Zachary, and Blake; great-nieces, Tessa Mitchell and Cailey Canibano, sons at heart, Trey McMurray, and Zachary McMurray. His love for life will live on through them. Daniel achieved much in short time on earth, but he had a few moments that shined others Daniels first proudest moment was becoming a father at the young age of 18, to Patrick. His second proudest moment was when he became a grandfather at the age of 48, to Trace. They were his life. He was very proud to have “Daniel Patrick Mitchell I, II, III.” Now his legacy will live on through Daniel Patrick Mitchell, III.
Some of Daniels hobbies include family time, repairing broken items, watching Andy Griffith, Seventh Heaven, and Fear Factor. His favorite football teams were the Dallas Cowboys and Alabama Crimson Tide. Daniel proudly served his country for many years in the United States Army.
A memorial service will be held in Daniel’s honor at 12:00PM on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, AL.
