CARTER, JR, CLURTIS Mr. Clurtis Carter, Jr., age 82 of Irondale, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 18, 2011. The family will receive friends Monday, November 21, 2011 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Jefferson Memorial Trussville Chapel. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 2:00PM at Jefferson Memorial Trussville Chapel with burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Rev. Elvis Carter and Pastor George Whitten will officiate. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; and one son, Charles Carter. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jewell Carter; one daughter, Doris (Edward); two sons, Richard (Karen) & Nathaniel, and daughter-in-law, Lisa, all of Birmingham, AL, nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Floyce (Frances), Calvin (Yvonne), Rayburn (Cindy), Elvis (Ethelene); sisters, Evelyn (Wayne), Virginia (Dwight), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. His memory will always be in our hearts, therefore he will always be with us.
