Charles Augustus Vildibill

Charles Augustus Vildibill III, 95, of Decatur, Alabama passed away on March 20, 2026 at his home surrounded by family.

He was a member of Eastside Central Baptist Church when he lived in Birmingham up until he moved to Decatur. There he was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama before he passed.

He spent 4 years in the Navy where he learned to fly planes at Whiting Field in Milton, Florida. He was deployed to the Bay of Pigs during his time of service. He was honorably discharged from the Navy he joined the Coast Guard where he served for the next 28 years. Once he retired from the military, he worked at the Birmingham Fire Department for 38 years where he was a Fire Inspector and Captain.

Charles enjoyed helping others. For several years he helped buy Christmas presents for poor families. He liked to talk about his family when he was growing up. He was very fond of his Uncle Seeb. Dad told some tall tales about Uncle Seeb. UncleSeeb was in prison. While in Prison, Seeb made the local newspaper for growing a cabbage plant that was over 85 Lbs. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

Charles was a straight shooter, loved westerns, and had good morals. He was always willing to help people.

Charles is survived by his wife Peggy Vildibill; Son, Denis Wayne Vildibil; Daughter Kelle (Johnny) Mitchell; Bonus family, Sons Randy Warren, Lance Warren; Daughter Jenny Smith; Grand Children, Heather Kelly, Hollie Booker, Hannah Warren, Wesley Warren, Keri Shesta, and Alex Smith.
